According to a tweet sent out this morning from Kurtis Larson of the Toronto Sun, Clint Dempsey of the Seattle Sounders will be suspended two games for a low blow which took place this past Saturday against Toronto FC in Seattle.
The blow came against Toronto defender Mark Bloom in the first half. After the game Dempsey shrugged the blow of as he stated:
“To be honest with you. I felt a hand on my back. I tried to hit it away and thought I was hitting his hand away. I understand that maybe I did catch him a little bit. I apologized to him about that, but for me, all I was trying to do was smack his hand from touching my back.”

The suspension would come prior to the Sounders first road trip of the year, as the team prepares to take on the Montreal Impact this coming Saturday in Montreal.
