Match Preview: Sounders 2 Takes on Timbers 2
Sounders 2 look for their third win of the season as they play Timbers 2 for the second time this season down in Portland.
Sounders 2 make the trek down I-5 for the second time this season to take on Timbers 2. Their first meeting this season was played at Providence Park as well and it saw Timbers 2 grab their first ever win against Sounders 2. That win came from a 1-0 scoreline, propelled by Villyan Bijev’s 25th minute goal.
Sounders 2 are coming off their second win of the season, beating Vancouver 2 3-2 thanks to goals from Cravan, Mansaray, and Ramos. Still suspect defensively at times, Sounders 2 will need to tighten up against 7th place Timbers 2 if they want to keep the momentum moving forward. A win tonight could momentarily push Sounders 2 into 12th place and keep them climbing up the table.
Timbers 2 are coming off a disappointing tie against San Antonio FC, a team much farther down the table than they are. Now, back at home, they will be looking for a statement win against Sounders 2.
Kickoff is at 4:30pm at Providence Park. You can watch the game on YouTube or follow along on social media.
