Jimmy Medranda well forever be remembered by Sounders fans for 1 of the greatest goals in Sounders history during a derby day against the Portland Timbers. Medranda's MLS legacy goes far beyond that goal however. His arrival to America saw the Columbian help Sporting Kansas City win a MLS Cup in 2013 and 2 US Open Cups in 2015 and 2017. Then with our Sounders played a pivotal role in us becoming the the 1st ever MLS club to win the CONCACAF Champions League in 2022. Then left for the Columbus Crew and helped them to a 2023 US Open Cup triumph. Now after a brief return to his home country of Columbia he's decided to make his grand return to the United States.


San Antonio FC the USL side owned by the San Antonio Spurs have announced the purchase of the Colombian full back. San Antonio FC training camp is currently underway prior to kicking off the 2025 USL Championship season at home, hosting Monterey Bay F.C. on Saturday, March 8. The 10th anniversary season is presented by Toyota. “We are excited to welcome Jimmy to San Antonio,” said SAFC Head Coach Carlos Llamosa. “Jimmy brings a lot of experience and leadership to the team, a player who defends well and gives us an extra boost in our attack.” The 30-year-old returned to Colombia in 2024, spending the season with Deportivo Cali in the country’s top flight. A move symbolic of his climb through the soccer ranks. Going from starting his career playing in Colombia’s second division with Deportivo Pereira in 2012. To having a stint to 1 of Colombia's biggest ever clubs. He's not the clubs only Colombian as he joins CDM Almir Soto . It's also not his 1st time in the USL he also had stints on loan in USL Championship with OKC Energy and SKC reserve side Swope Park Rangers.
