Of course our buying of Columbian-American striker Jesus Ferreira recently is to replace our Peruvian all time leading goal scorer but every amazing plan a comes with a plan b. And as of right now we don't have that and actually lack depth at the striker position. So who can solve both of these issues? Why Álex Arce the prolific Paraguayan who currently plays in LDU Quito in Educator and here's why the Sounders should look into him.

The most obvious argument is his goal scoring record this year. With 30 games played in the LigaPro Serie A he's scored 26 goals and have had 4 assists a goal per game throughout this year. And this isn't a surprise as last year for CS Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina's 2nd division he had the exact same statline in the game amount of games, 26 goals and 4 assists in 30 games. He was once a very promising prospect but a cruciate ligament rupture shortly after his pro debut derailed his career. But he's worked extremely hard and now is reaping the rewards by scoring goals after goals. His play style is also a great match for Jesus Ferreira, making him a very fitting second option. He's great at dribbling from speed, talented at free kicks and standing outside the box and trusting his powerful legs to make shots from range.

Of course there's a few other things to consider when talking about a Álex Arce transfer. Like the fact we don't have many foreign player slots due to trading them away and of course giving Jordan Morris a DP slot. And using 1 of those few spots on signing the returning Kim Kee-Hee the Korean enforcer. There's still possibilities to get him though. We can trade to get a DP spot maybe for some money like we traded our DPs for money earlier this year. Then there's the fact he's valued at 5 million pounds which is a lot for a backup striker. But then we could do a player swap with one of the positions we have a logjam at like a CB and CDM so it'd be a matter if if it's worth it or not. Plus LDU Quito did get him for 2.80 million so we could argue that if we give them 4 mil they're still getting more value for him regardless. Thanks a bunch for reading!
