The 29-year-old midfielder is one of the most experienced and accomplished players in the NWSL, having played for four different teams since 2017. James has played in 102 games for Wales and is the youngest Welsh player of any gender to reach 100 appearances for the nation. She has netted four goals for Cymru, one of which was against Estonia in the 2023 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

She is a box-to-box midfielder, who can contribute both defensively and offensively, as well as provide leadership and composure on the field. James signed a two-year contract with Seattle Reign FC, and will be a key addition to the team's midfield.
