Seattle Reign has confirmed that defender Shae Holmes will stay with the team for the 2024 season. Holmes, who was in her rookie year, started nine games and played in 12 matches in all NWSL tournaments, accumulating 839 minutes on the field.

The 23-year-old defender was instrumental in the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup, helping the team win the West Division and advance to the semifinals for the second year in a row. Holmes was one of only two players on OL Reign who started every game of the Challenge Cup and achieved a 100% tackle success rate, 18 duels won, eight interceptions and a team-high eight blocks. She also contributed to a defense that kept clean sheets in all six group stage matches.

After an impressive performance in the tournament, the first-year defender Holmes was one of the two rookies selected for the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup All-Tournament Team.
