Seattle Reign - who is coming back for 2024 season

The club announced that veteran midfielder Nikki Stanton will stay with Seattle Reign FC through the 2024 NWSL season. Stanton, who joined the league in 2014, was an unrestricted free agent and has played for the Reign for the past two seasons.

Before joining Seattle Reign FC, the midfielder from North Bend, Washington played for three years with the Chicago Red Stars and five years with NJ/NY Gotham FC, previously known as Sky Blue FC. Stanton made 93 appearances (48 starts) in total. She has also played 121 regular season games and four games in the NWSL playoffs.

After playing for the Chicago Red Stars for 10 years, Stanton joined the Reign before the 2022 season and has played 42 games in all NWSL events. In the 2023 regular season, Stanton had 15 games and two assists, which was the second-highest on the team, along with 31 duels won, 11 interceptions and nine tackles won. The midfielder also played in six UKG Challenge Cup games, with the third-highest minutes on the team (482).
