In the first stage of the 2023 Re-Entry process, Sounders FC acquired defender Jonathan Bell. The 26-years-old defender played for St. Louis CITY SC in 2023 after spending two seasons with the New England Revolution. He joined the New England Revolution after being drafted by San Jose in 2020. Sounders agreed a contract for the 2024 season with a team option for 2025.

Bell played for the Revolution's second team in his first year as a professional, gaining valuable experience and showing his potential. He earned a promotion to the First Team ahead of the 2021 season. He is a product of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he had a stellar collegiate career and earned several honors and awards.

As a Jamaican international, he played 19 out of 27 games for the Revs in two seasons and helped them win the 2021 Supporters’ Shield. He also featured in five matches for St. Louis in all competitions in 2023, as well as four games in MLS NEXT Pro. He has started 21 times in 30 MLS regular season games.
