Seattle Sounders 2024 Offseason recap - Who is arriving?

Braudílio Rodrigues

The Seattle Sounders FC have announced the signing of forward Braudílio Rodrigues for the 2024 season, with options to extend his contract for 2025 and 2026. The Sounders acquired the priority to sign Rodrigues from New York City FC, who had his college rights, in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. He joined Tacoma Defiance before the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season after a prolific collegiate career with Franklin Pierce University.

He scored 15 regular-season goals for Defiance in 2023, his first professional season, breaking the club's single-season record. He also netted two goals in a Western Conference Quarterfinals win over Houston Dynamo 2. On August 9, he achieved another feat by becoming the third player in the club's history to score a hat trick against Sporting Kansas City II.

He was the only Defiance player to play in all 30 matches for the club, starting 28 of them and also the two postseason games. The native of Portugal also contributed four assists.
