Seattle Sounders 2024 Offseason recap - Who is having contracts renewed or extended?

Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas is a Russian-American goalkeeper who signed a Generation Adidas contract with MLS in 2021 and was selected by Seattle Sounders FC off waivers after a successful college career at Stanford University. He started his soccer journey at Watford FC's academy in England.

In the 2023 season, he didn't have any appearance for the Sounders, but he was on the bench seven times. He played for the Tacoma Defiance 15 games with three clean sheets and 19 goals conceived. He was loaned at the end of the season for the New Mexico United where he had nine games with two clean sheets and nine goals conceded.

Thomas contract was extended for the 2024 per club's option and he should fight with Jacob Castro for the Stef Frei's backup position this year.
