Happy New Years everyone!

I would like to welcome everyone to the 2023 Sounders season. We are now gearing up for the 2023 season and in a year where the World Cup has just ended in a fairly positive year for the USMNT, we hope that momentum will carry on to our season.

We hope that Sounders Nation will be a reliable and exciting source for you to keep track of the new upcoming season.

The Sounders will once again be led by head coach Brian Schmetzer, who has been at the helm since 2016. He has guided the team to four MLS Cup appearances, winning two of them, and will be looking to add another trophy to the cabinet this season.

The Sounders will have a number of key players returning for the 2023 campaign, including midfield maestro Nicolás Lodeiro and clinical forward Raúl Ruidíaz. Lodeiro is the team's creative engine, while Ruidíaz is a proven goal-scorer.

One of the biggest challenges facing the Sounders this season will be the loss of several key players to international duty. Lodeiro, Ruidíaz, and Gómez Andrade are all expected to represent their respective countries in the 2023 Copa América, which could leave the Sounders thin on depth at times. However, the team has a strong academy system and will look to young players like Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez and Ethan Dobbelaere to step up and fill the void.

The impact by these younger players and the quality of their play will be crucial to this new season.

With a talented squad and a proven coaching staff, the Sounders will be a team to watch in the 2023 MLS season. Whether they can make a run at the MLS Cup remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the Seattle Sounders will be an exciting team to follow.
