As we are now gearing up for the 2023 season, let's take a look back at some of the best players of all-time in Seattle Sounders history.

1. Clint Dempsey

Forward Clint Dempsey played for the Sounders from 2013 to 2018 and is the team's all-time leading scorer.

Scoring 57 goals for the club in total and a three-time MLS Best XI selection, Dempsey was a key player in the Sounders' 2016 MLS Cup win and is widely regarded as one of the best players in team history.

Before joining the Sounders for a $9 million transfer fee, Dempsey played on the pitch for Tottenham Hotspur before joining the team.

2. Nicolas Lodeiro

Midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro has played for the Sounders since 2016 and has quickly become one of the team's top players. A two-time MLS Best XI selection, Lodeiro was a key player in the Sounders' 2016 MLS Cup win and is considered one of the best playmakers in team history.

3. Kasey Keller

Goalkeeper Kasey Keller played for the Sounders from 2009 to 2011 and was a cornerstone of the team's early success. A four-time MLS Best XI selection, Keller won the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2011 and is remembered as one of the best goalkeepers to ever play for the Sounders.

4. Osvaldo Alonso

Midfielder Osvaldo Alonso played for the Sounders from 2009 to 2018 and was known for his tireless work ethic and tough tackling. A three-time MLS Best XI selection, Alonso played a crucial role in the Sounders' 2016 MLS Cup win and is considered one of the best midfielders in team history.

5. Fredy Montero

Forward Fredy Montero played for the Sounders from 2009 to 2012 and is the team's second all-time leading scorer. A two-time MLS Best XI selection, Montero won the MLS Newcomer of the Year award in 2009 and is remembered as one of the most talented offensive players in Sounders history.

6. Honorable Mention: Stefan Frei

Hard to leave Stefan Frei off of this list. His single save against Toronto in the MLS Cup seriously might be the most gut-wrenching save of all-time in the MLS. He also has over 200 appearances with the club.
