2) The turning point

Sadly for the Sounders this theory was proved just one minute later, as Orlando got back into the game. Facundo Torres calmly collected a pass in the penalty area and fired home past a helpless Frei, to make it 2-1.

The home side started to push forward with renewed confidence, which paid off in the 68th minute. They were awarded a second penalty after a harsh decision on a Morris handball in the box, which was slotted home by Ercan Kara to the left of Frei.

As much as it would have felt like two points lost, the Sounders appeared set to at least get something from the game. Fate however, had different ideas.

Orlando scored the winner in the 91st minute, after Kyle Smith's effort deflected into the goal off Jackson Ragen. There was some initial hope for Seattle when it was ruled offside, before being overturned by the VAR.
