2. Seattle 3 - 0 Austin - September 10, 2022
The Sounders won the game 3-0, thanks to a brace from Raúl Ruidíaz and an own goal from Austin's Ruben Gabrielsen. The game was the first meeting between the two teams, as Austin FC joined the league as an expansion team in 2022.
The Sounders dominated the game from the start, opening the scoring in the 12th minute when Nicolas Lodeiro set up Ruidíaz for a close-range finish.
Ruidíaz doubled his tally and the Sounders' lead in the 34th minute, completing a quick counterattack with a low shot past Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver.
Austin tried to get back into the game in the second half, but their hopes were dashed in the 68th minute when Gabrielsen deflected a cross from Cristian Roldan into his own net.
The win extended the Sounders' unbeaten run to 14 games and kept them at the top of the Western Conference standings. Austin, on the other hand, suffered their third consecutive loss and remained at the bottom of the table.
