Seattle Sounders FC, one of the most successful franchises in MLS history, is ready to move into a new state-of-the-art training facility. The Sounders FC Center at Longacres, located in Renton, Washington, is now the permanent home for the club's soccer operations and business staff, as well as the first team, Tacoma Defiance and academy.
The facility features four full-size training pitches (two grass, two turf) and 50,000 square feet of office space. The campus also includes a gym, a recovery area, a cafeteria, a media room, and a locker room.
The new training center is just the first milestone on the 50th anniversary of the Seattle Sounders organization. As the club celebrates its first five decades of excellence and innovation, the Sounders FC Center at Longacres will help lay the foundation for the next 50 years.
FIFA World Cup 2026 on the sight
The facility will also be a potential base camp for one of the participants in the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Seattle will host six games at Lumen Field during the tournament, including one group stage game featuring the United States. The Sounders FC Center at Longacres will offer an ideal location and environment for any country that ends up playing games in Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
The Sounders FC Center at Longacres is more than just a training facility. It reflects the club's values, vision and commitment to its fans and community. It is a testament to the club's ambition and excellence on and off the field. It is a legacy project that will benefit generations of players, staff and supporters.
