Tacoma Defiance signs four players for 2024 season

Sousa, a 22-year-old defender, had three assists in 23 games (18 as a starter) for Defiance in 2023. He also started both playoff games and helped Defiance beat Houston Dynamo 2 in the Western Conference Quarterfinals with an assist. He came off the bench in both of Sounders FC's 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches.

The Lathrop, California native joined Tacoma in 2022 and helped Defiance reach the Western Conference Final with two goals and two assists in 16 games (seven starts). Before that, Sousa played for Hamburger SV in Germany in 2019-2020 and then for Oakland Roots SC and Sporting Kansas City II in 2021.
