Tacoma Defiance signs four players for 2024 season

Gomez, a 17-year-old midfielder, has been with the Sounders FC Academy since October 2017. He has played for the U-15 and U-17 teams, making 23 appearances and scoring six goals. He debuted in MLS NEXT Pro last season, playing in nine games (two starts) for Tacoma as an Academy player.

The midfielder assisted a goal in a 4-4 tie with Minnesota United FC 2 on May 15. Gomez was part of the U-17 Sounders FC Academy team that claimed the 2022 Generation Adidas Cup, playing in seven games during the competition. He also played from the start in seven matches for Seattle in the 2023 GA Cup campaign.
