Being a MLS expansion is a tough, how many teams have to build a roster that can keep up with the best division in their country from scratch? There's many directions to take when building a roster from the ground up though, one of the few benefits it comes with. And as San Diego has gone with introducing a few veterans to their line-up including our ex-all time top goal scorer, Raúl Ruidíaz.

We already said goodbye to the Peruvian legend earlier this off-season and many fans were left wondering where The Flea would go next? Well apparently that place would be the sunny shores of San Diego. According to Niko Moreno they're interested in a quality but experienced MLS attacker and can you think of many better than RR9? With another interesting thing being that he said this was 1 of 2 teams within the MLS who are interested in signing him. Though he didn't disclose who the other team was however.

Now for as damn great as Ruidíaz was, his last season with the Sounders was not great with 24 appearances and only 8 goals and no assists far from his best and every Sounders fan would know. So while I doubt they're in a win now attitude if they are they could do better. But if they want to build from the ground and develop talented young players then they made the right signing!

There are few strikers in MLS history with the mix of experience and quality in the league that
Raúl Ruidíaz has. So I'm sure any young player or any player new to the MLS has a lot to learn from The Flea. Even if it's only from watching his greatness up close. And I certainly wish him nothing but the absolute best for whatever his next club is!
