To sum it up quickly, offense did it's job defense did not. I know it's preseason so they won't be playing at 100% and it means very little as it's only prep us for the season ahead but this is still a embarrassing result, yeah?

Looking at the match ratings it's clear the only people who did their job was the midfield. João Paulo
continues to show promising sings he's recovering from his injury greatly. With a 8.5 out of 10 match rating and even scored a goal, another midfielder who did a great job was the young and promising Paul Rothrock with a 7.6 rating and a goal of his own. Though those were the only 2 players who got a match rating above seven during the game. Travian Sousa scored the 3rd goal of the game to ensure it wouldn't go down as a loss. Though according to sofascore a mysterious player I've never heard of called "goals" scored a hattrick for the Sounders. I can't find him anywhere on the roster but if he's as great as sofascore believes he is I hope he lives up to the hype.

Nobody came close to the 9.8 that Swedish striker Christoffer Nyman got for IFK Norrköping which makes sense as nobody on the Sounders got the hatrick Nyman did during this game. He was going all out against a team from a superior league, perhaps trying to impress and get a move to a bigger league, perhaps we should consider him a backup for Morris and Ferrira, clearly he knows our defense well after all. Though that wouldn't be possible without our defenders who struggled none of the starters getting above a 6.5. With the biggest strugglers being Andrew Thomas our goalie with a 6.1 rating then Jon Bell and Stuart Hawkins who both got a 6.2. To the young Hawkins I'm sure this must be a shock to him and hopefully he'll use this as a learning opportunity to become a better player.

The biggest strugglers however were many of the IFK Norrköping defenders such as Sögaard who had a horrid 4.9 and Eriksson with a worse 4.8. The Sounders attackers making them look like they belong in the Swedish amauter leagues! A result like this always sucks but the whole point of the preseason is to get prepped and with the emotional detachment making the easiest time of the year for players to self reflect and pick apart their own mistakes so they can figure out what to fix so they don't make those mistakes in the big games! Something that if the Sounders do will make results like this a rarity, thanks a bunch for reading!
