How will the Sounders 3 MLS SuperDraft players we picked help us in the 2025 season?

Another MLS Superdraft has come and pass with the Sounders drafting a player per round from round 1-3. I've already made a article going over the careers and speculating on the potential of the 3 picks now today we'll talk about what they'll do for the Sounders or if they'll do anything for the Sounders in 2025. So let's do it!

1st round pick: Ryan Baer, West Virginia University, CM/CDM, Frequent Sounders rotation piece. Baer had a truly impressive college career and shows great promise. And with our change in formation which gives us 2 CDMs the North Carolina native plenty of chances to help the Sounders in 2025. I actually wish it could've been more but with JP coming back it's safe to assume but he and Obed Vargas will take the starting job. Though with JP' being pretty damn old and Vargas lack of experience I'm sure there'll be plenty of times he'll be put in to help the Sounders late in games and we'll see what he can do.

2nd round pick: Demian Alvarez, Seattle University, Defender, Tacoma Defiance. I'll admit this could be harsh as I couldn't find any info on his specific position so makes it harder to analyze what role he could play for the team. So with what little info we have I'll try and predict what his 2025 season will be like. With the new formation that has a heavy focus on the midfield it means we do have a log jam defensively. Especially since before the draft we signed 2 young defenders Leo Burney and Travian Sousa. It looks like he'll have to impress with our lower league counterpoint before he gets some time in the Sounders. Something I'm sure he can do.

3rd round pick: Trace Terry, Bowling Green University, Striker, in-between the Defiance and a rotation piece. Lastly the striker with the awesome name and he completes the trio by fittingly enough being in-between the 2 options we've been presented with. While a late pick Terry has shown a lot of improvement and has had a impressive career in college. And even with our recent Jesus Ferreira trade we still don't have a lot of depth at the striker position. With us still only having Morris and the injured Danny Musovski and with us playing a 3-5-2 it's safe to assume it'll be Morris and Ferreira are starting. I doubt we'll only have Musovski and Terry on the bench because that's not very smart and the Sounders are generally smart. But with the lack of strikers but also his young age it wouldn't surprise me for the sake of the development and the team he'll jump in-between the Sounders bench and the Tacoma Defiance starting line-up throughout the year. Thanks a bunch for reading!
