Our 1st preseason game of the day ended in a draw and so does our last. It started out much better as we were up 2-0 due to a beautiful strike by new big time signing, Colombian-American striker Jesús Ferreira in the 41st minute. Then Cristian Roldán scored right on the even of half-time with both of their match ratings showing their contributions with Cristian Roldán having the best match rating out of anyone with a 7.7 but Jesús Ferreira close behind with a 7.6. With other new signing Paul Arriola and Jordan Morris being the closest behind both out of any of the Sounders with a 6.5 rating.
But like with the last game it was both the younger guys being subbed on and not being able to stop 1 striker on the team. This time Swedish striker Boudah who scored both of Hammarby IF's goals in the 2nd half. With that earning the Swede a well deserved 8.9 for the match, earning him the highest match rating of the day out of anyone naturally. Between this and Christoffer Nyman scoring a hat-trick in the last game today. We have 2 Swedish strikers going all out to try out for the MLS or even a spot on the Sounders bench and considering how well they did against our D, definitely worth a look if I do say so myself.
Despite our 1st half dominance their great 2nd half balanced out the stats for the game. With Hammarby IF dominating us in the corner kick category 4 to the Sounders 1 corner kick on the day. We kicked their butts on attacks however with 79 attacks to the Swedish team's 64 using that 54% possession we had very effectively more than what they did with their 46% possession. They did have more shots however with 5 to the Sounders 4 both tied with 2 shots on target throughout the game. Hammarby also beat us in dangerous attacks 25 to the Seattle Sounders 24. They were the less disciplined team throughout the day though with the Swedish side having 3 yellow cards to the Seattle Sounders lowly 2. This was a great day for the starts seeing the starters working greatly together and dominating but showing some of our younger guys still need to figure some things out before the year starts but with how great our starters our playing. They'll have lots of chances to look within themselves and figure out what to do next to improve. Plus have a amazing group of veterans to help them out as well. Thanks a bunch for reading!
