Jesús describes Seattle as “a quick stop” on his way to Europe

On a episode of Men in Blazers they recently interviewed the Sounders brand new savior about things like MLS players in the USMNT and his recent fitness issues. But 1 quote has been talked about a lot more than the others and that's the Colombian-American saying that Seattle is a quick stop on his way to Europe. I don't know why this such a big deal, many people move to Seattle with the goal to get out of there as soon as possible. So it sounds like he's integrating into the culture in Seattle perfectly. But what could this mean, that's what interests me and what I'll write about today.

The cyclical look at this is that he's not committed to the team. He already has 1 foot out the door and won't give it a 100% as he looks towards the other side of that massive pond. But that doesn't make a lot of sense for a few reasons. Obviously Europe doesn't respect the MLS all that much. So to even gain European interest from the MLS you gotta do pretty damn great for Europeans to consider a MLS player worthy of their squad.

So by that logic he should work harder than ever as he's gotta be blasting in goal after goal to even be impressing teams in Croatia. So if anything I believe he'll be doing everything he can to help the team win while letting his star shine so that when his agent shows Villarreal CF his resume, they'll raise a eyebrow and consider a big offer to the Sounders. 1 I'm sure we'll accept with a big cocky smile and with a list of prospects ready to purchase.

The 1 piece of evidence beside the worst possible interpretation of what he said is his current fitness issue he's struggling with. Now I'll say this before I say anything else, I have no evidence for any of this so take everything I'm about to say with the smallest grain of salt but I don't believe he has a fitness issue. If you saw 1 of my latest articles you know the Sounders love to put themselves over the USMNT especially Camp Cupcake. So I'm sure Sounders told him to report to camp so he can integrate and find his role in the Sounders sooner. Which is fair enough. But Jesús Ferreira also fair enough, wants to be a part of the 2026 WC USMNT squad. The World Cup squad for the USA that would play the world's biggest front of the country he's been raised in for most of his life, a rare honor. But so that it looks like he isn't choosing the Sounders over the USA both the Sounders and he agreed to faking some medicial problem as a excuse not to go to Camp Cupcake this year. Something that if I'm right and again I have no evidence, can't help if we want to keep him around long term.
