Looks like the Sounders listened to me after all.

This morning it was confirmed that the Sounders have gone through with a blockbuster deal to finally get superstar striker Jesus Ferreira from FC Dallas weeks after it was 1st initially rumored. Dallas will receive $2 million GAM, a 2025 international roster spot and winger Leo Chu in exchange for Ferreira, sources add. Dallas could receive further performance-based add-ons. Which is a smart move as Leo Chu obviously didn't want to be a Sounder and we replace him with someone who can either slot in a similar role, or we can put him in the role Morris is currently in and move Morris to a role more fitting of his skills anyway.

Jesus Ferreira who was a product of FC Dallas's academy and this would be the 1st time he would leave FC Dallas in his career. Though it might not be the last as he said he's interested in going to Europe but couldn't find any offers. This is because last year he did struggle both with injuries and on the field having 4 injuries in 22/33 and last year in 22 appearances he had his most disappointing year having only 5 goals and 3 assists. But in 2022 he did have 18 goals in 33 appearances so if he shakes off the injury bug he will be a very effective attacking force on our team that will add goals and even playmaking we really need.

Not to mention not only do I want him to recover from the injury because I don't want a young man to not live up to his full potential or because now that he's a Sounders. But also because he's so great for the USMNT. Ferreira has 15 goals in 23 caps for the USMNT and was part of his country's squad at the 2022 World Cup. And no doubt if he's healthy he'll play a big role in the 2026 World Cup especially since his pressing ability and frequency fits Mauricio Pochettino style to a tee. But if he's not that'll be a massive hole for the USMNT to fill. Thanks a bunch for reading!
