Crazy idea, let's wait till the season starts to really judge off-season moves.

Games are not won or lost on paper.

There's been a lot of talk in the Sounders fandom, as should be expected after we make a major move like trading for Jesús David Ferreira Castro. And right now Sounders fans are mostly of 2 minds. 1 doesn't think we're being ambitious enough
and 1 thinks that all the stuff we're doing is brilliant and this'll strength the squad a ton. 1 problem with both of the views is that only can they both be right, they both can be right or wrong for the same reason. The season hasn't started yet, hell the off-season hasn't started yet. Wouldn't even be surprised if Ferreira hasn't even finished moving house yet.

It would be 1 thing is it was people acknowledging how little info they really have and making honest guesses based on that. But they're not, a lot of people are acting like they already know what's going to happen and why. Fact is most fans will only ever know 10% or less about what's going on right now. Because we don't know about the behind the scenes stuff that's crucial to if these moves work or on it. How well Ferreira or Arriola will fit in the Sounders new system, if they have to adjust their playing styles to the system, how good or bad they are at doing that, how well they're getting along with the squad, these are things that not even the Sounders know right now. Because you can only really know most of that stuff when we see em on the field.

For example I'm not excited by the Arriola move. He's a pretty good playmaker in the MLS and he'd be a help, but that's only something I admitted to myself after awhile of thinking about it. Because I still feel like there's better players who can do the same role he will and bring more to the table. But I'm not super emotional invested in that idea nor treating it like it will happen. I could be wrong because the Sounders could be the most perfect fit for him and FC Dallas was holding him back. His play style is also perfect to play off of Rusnák and to help Morris. So he becomes the best playmaker in the MLS. I don't think it's likely but I know it's possible because he's not even not on the team yet so anything's possible.

I sound condescending I tried not to but this is something I'm so frustrated by in general. I wished more people would go through all the possibilities and what it would take for each and every one to happen. Then determine which 1's are most likely. Because it's a great way to temper yourself and set expectations. Instead of doing what most people do which is go off their first thought and hold it as truth and the only truth. And it's an attitude people have that's being reflected in small way here. I could be off the mark here too because I don't know the human mind perfectly as a matter of fact I don't know that much about it at all. So if you think I'm 100% off please tell me I'd love to hear other's thoughts. Thanks a bunch for reading!
