So how's that Paul Arriola deal going on, dead or about to be confirmed?

It's going pretty good I'd say. If you take your minds back to around a month ago when the Jesús Ferreira rumors 1st poped up at almost exactly the same time we were linked to another FC Dallas star on the offensive side in of course Paul Arriola and not Enes Sali like I wanted. So not that 1 FC Dallas star has been confirmed what happened to the other guy? Well aren't you lucky because I, the smartest man alive knows exactly what happened so if you really wanna know please read on.

As has been reported by multiple sources such as the God Niko Moreno have broken that FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders have agreed to terms for the player, so what got in the way? The answer is the MLS itselfThey weren't happy with the way the salary was being accolated which forced both clubs to restructure the deal from the ground up. But according to Niko and Craig they've both already completed the new version of the deal. And the transfer is already done behind the scenes. Meaning news of Ferreira will be joined by a old co-star of his should be coming soon. And I can't wait because he should fit perfectly even if he isn't the biggest ceiling raiser.

Last year creating and finishing chances were a problem for the Sounders so much so that the 1st priority is to solve those attacking by raiding FC Dallas's attack for some reason. To call Arriola a prominent player is a bit of understatement, he's the captain of FC Dallas and he knows the MLS like the back of his hand. Having played previously for DC United and only left the MLS once for Swansea City in 20/21. Like Ferreira he had a bad season in 2024 having 5 goals and 2 assists but unlike Ferreira he also had a bad 2023 only having 3 goals and 4 assists to the same number of goal contributions. Which is really down when you compare it to his 2021 and 2018 where in 21 he had 15 total goal contributions (10 goals, 5 assists) and 13 total goal contributions (7 goals and 6 assists) though his impact has always been more indirect averaging a key pass each season he's been in the MLS including the past 2 seasons. And has always had strong through balls.

So while not the most valuable he will add to the Sounders attack and help Ferreira with transiting from leaving Dallas for the 1st time. Thanks a bunch for reading!
