Portland Timbers Owner Merritt Paulson Suffers Alligator Bite

Apparently Portland Timbers Owner Merritt Paulson has suffered an alligator bite. In a twitter conversation on Thursday, Paulson tweeted this picture:

While the tweet as since been deleted, puns for alligator bites and the Portland Timbers season were rife :r. Here are some of the best

And finally:

The Timbers have started off 0-5-3 in 2014 and have quickly fallen to last place in the Western Conference of MLS.  They have managed only 5 points in 8 games. With a quarter of the season over, the team will need a catalyst. Many just thought it would be more in the form of a motivational speaker, or bonuses rather than a possible “Darwin Award“.

Portland will play host to DC United and former Seattle Sounder Eddie Johnson on Saturday at 7:00pm (TV: ROOT Sports) to try to notch their first win of the season.

The Seattle Sounders will not play host to the Portland Timbers until July 13th on ESPN 2, but rest assured there will be plenty of gator jokes before-hand (rim-shot).
