Major League Soccer fans have voted Seattle Sounders FC forwards Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins onto the 2015 MLS All-Star Game Fan XI, making it the 2nd season in a row that the Sounders pair have been selected to the Fan XI.

Last season, Obafemi Martins was also selected to the All Star Team via the “More Than A Vote” tournament. This year the 2015 MLS All-Stars will be playing Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur on July 29th at Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.

Dempsey will be making his 4th appearance at the MLS’s annual All-Star Game, his 2nd with Seattle. He also made appearances in the ASG as a member of the New England Revolution in 2005 and 2006. This season Dempsey has 7 goals and 6 assists in 12 matches for the Sounders, plus 3 goals for the USMNT during the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

For Obafemi Martins, this is his 2nd ASG appearance at 29, both with Sounders FC. Last years MLS MVP runner-up has 7 goals in 2015.

It will be interesting to see how the MLS All-Stars fare against Tottenham Hotspur in the All Star Game, as the All Star team has fared pretty well against English opposition. Last season the All Stars defeated German champions Bayern Munich 2-1 in Portland, so it will be interesting to see how the English side will adapt to the altitude in Colorado.

Personally, I hope to see former Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin in the lineup for Spurs in the All Star Game, as it’s always a pleasure to watch the young star play, but if the USMNT secures a trip to the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, which will be played 3 days before the All Star Game, it would probably be unlikely of Spurs to run him out again.
