The MLS All-Star Team is set to take on Arsenal FC July 28th. You can vote for the All-Stars now until Noon on the 4th of July.
Last year, we saw THE 2015 MLS All-Stars take on the Deandre Yedlin and the Tottenham Hotspurs, a game the All-Stars won 2-1. This year’s MLS All-Star Team is set to take on BPL giants Arsenal FC at Avaya Stadium in San Jose on July 28th. You can vote for your MLS All-Stars here on the MLS website. There are plenty of Sounders up for All-Star voting.
In the goalkeeper section we of course have one of the best in the league Stefan Frei, who has never been to an MLS All-Star game. In defense, there are 3 Sounders up for votes including Joevin Jones, Chad Marshall, and Brad Evans. I don’t understand why the whole backline isn’t up for votes/why Jones is there in front of Mears, but we can still support our team and vote for the three of them. Honey Badger Ozzie Alonso and Andreas Ivanschitz were both named on the ballot for midfielders. The only reason I think Erik Friberg isn’t on the ballot is because his injury didn’t give those who named people to the ballot enough time to understand how good he actually is. Up top from the Sounders we have Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris named to the ballot.
Ten players will be selected from the fan voting and named to the All-Star Fan XI but the eleventh will be chosen through the “More than a Vote” challenge. In this challenge, votes are casted for forwards by scoring a goal with them on FIFA 16. The forward with the most goals will be the eleventh player on the All-Star Fan XI.
Voting ends on July 4th so make sure you get your votes in. No matter what your opinion is on the MLS All-Star game, it would be pretty cool to see some Sounders squaring off against Arsenal.
