After some disappointing results to end their stint in Maribella our final preseason game of the season was a delight. Beating up the Kentucky based USL team 4-0. So how did we do it and what we can learn from it so we know what to expect from this upcoming 2025 season, let's find out!

The biggest takeaway not only from this game but the whole preseason was the potential improvement of Pedro De La Vega. Last year the Argentine winger who became our biggest signing ever was a disappointment last season due to injuries and struggles on the field. This preseason though he's been great and this game has been the peak. Scoring 2 out of the 4 goals in our 4-0 victory. Arriola has also been integrating nicely into the Sounders system assisting one of De La Vega's goals.
Next goal was great teamwork and positioning from the Sounders. As the Sounders got on the board again when Roldan flicked a header off a Ferreira corner to the far post, where de la Vega was waiting to smash it into the net. Cristian Roldan showed how great he can on the offensive with a goal of his own. Roldan's offensive threat is crucial to giving the Sounders midfield the dynamism needed to give us a unpredictable edge that's helped us get so long in the playoffs for years now. So happy to see he still has that in his toolbox. Even Colombian centerback Yeimar Gómez got in on the action getting a blowout clenching goal, the fourth goal of the game to end any chance of a comeback.

Then it was another win against Louisville City this time 3-0 in another beating. Another pattern that's been the wonderful recovery of João Paulo which means it looks like he'll be back to his very best for 2025. As he assisted a goal for the brand new young defender for the Sounders the 1 and only Stuart Hawkins who scored his 1st career unofficial goal for the Sounders in the 28th minute. In the 52nd minute Minoungou’s cross was so dangerous that after the goalie tried to clear it, it ended in a own goal for the Sounders. Danny Musovski reminded us he can get on the scorers sheet in the 82nd minute to close out the game.

Overall the team seems to be very in sync and new signings Jesus Ferreira and Paul Arriola are fitting in the squad perfectly. Plus Pedro De La Vega and João Paulo are recovering greatly or so it seems giving us tons of reasons to be optimistic heading into the 2025 season, thanks a bunch for reading!
