Net By Northwest: Update

Been a little absent lately due to being in a training class. The traveling unfortunately made me miss most of the Sounders game Sunday evening and then due to the lack of available time to really even keep up on things I missed the 24-hour drama that surrounded Mario Martinez.

It’s weird I’ve really wanted to write about Martinez and emphasize his lack of playing time over the last few weeks. Unfortunately, I ‘ve just never really come up with the proper means to describe and judge his performance analytically speaking. But, now it kind of feels as if it would all be in vain at this juncture.

Speaking of finding time to write an analytic perspective pieces, I really would love to write about Jeff Parke. His stepping up on the back line over the course of the last month has been a great need and with Hurtado running into injury.

Marcus Henneman, started tonight for the lads and while the rust was still rather apparent for the keeper, it was still a relatively decent performance for a guy that just came out of retirement.

Topics: Jeff Parke, Marcus Henneman, Mario Martinez
