Seeking Like Minded Individual To Write About Sounders

So hey, I would love to see this site grow. I have a database which I’m attempting to develop with some various statistics and I’m hoping to share out. In order to do that I need to help developing via PHP. I have a bit of skill due to the day job requirements. But, I’m short on time and I need help.

But that would be a HUGE, huge plus.

I just am looking for someone who enjoys the Sounders, wants to write about them and maybe has an inclination to seeking out and understanding more about tactics and the evolution of statistical analysis.

I don’t have it figured out and I certainly don’t pretend too. I’m very new to all of this and I’m seeking out as much knowledge on the subject as possible.

As a side note and really not necessarily related, I’m also seeking out someone that would like to host a analytically driven MLS podcast with me. I know that there isn’t much out there in the way but there is a lot of things to learn about soccer that we don’t know and how to evaluate teams and their movement.

When you have a league salary cap and constant fluctuation of expenditures it’s important to maximize the return on investment. I would enjoy talking about the talent around the league and the transaction that enable teams to stay on top and others that are trying to get better.

I’m not trying to be an American version of Charles Reep or anything like that. I just want to consider looking at another means to attribute value and define production of players who are often lost due to their position and involvement–or lack there of–within the attack.

As an example; I believe that Marc Burch is a much better value than that of Leo Gonzalez. Sure, Gonzalez doesn’t have as many holes and generally took a step forward. But, Burch should be the one that remains with the club over the off-season, not the Costa Rican international.

Gonzalez makes nearly double the wage of Burch. But contributed less minutes and generally  wasn’t any more effective. If anything Gonzalez is a more physical back that, much like Burch, can contribute a bit to the attack via his ability to find people with his crosses.

I personally would like to see the club do something with Leo, as there is a need to make room with the salary cap and I see him being the most expendable piece that would also make the biggest impact against the cap.

This is just my opinion. I’m not looking for someone who would share that opinion. I’m just looking for someone that seeks for a way to determine if that opinion is right or wrong. Hit me up.
