Sounders Use 2nd Round Pick On Dylan Remick

I said it earlier and I’ll say it again. I’d be full of hot air if I let on that I know a bunch about college soccer. I don’t. But, I looked at Dylan Remick quiet a bit and to be honest, weighing him against the likes of Taylor Kemp and Kory Kindle, I thought Remick fight the Sounder mold best out of the top left backs. He’s got good physical traits, quickness and strength, and the technical skills to support the attack.

The thing that I think spoke to beyond everything else was that he loves being on the back line and it just gave me a feeling that he could end up being a piece that potentially takes over the left back position in the near future.

Everyone on MLSsoccer.com and Soccer by Ives seemed pretty bent on making this draft about left backs and while both Kemp and Kindle have some great potential, Remick always seemed to graded  around the same area but often seemed skipped over by much of the professional ranks despite having opportunities to go overseas on training stints. I’m not sure what happened but I really feel like Remick is the diamond in the rough here.

I know there are a lot of people that are really excited about Zavaleta, and there is a lot to be excited there, but quietly Remick is just as big of deal in my opinion. I can’t wait to see him get into camp and hear more about him.

Topics: Dylan Remick, Eriq Zavaleta, Kory Kindle, Taylor Kemp
