Previously in the day the one of the captains for Levante, Juanfran Garcia stated it was in error to speak to the press earlier in the week and the transfer should remain between the player and the club. However, he went on to say he does not want ,” Any player who does not have the mind to or want to be here.”
Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer had said earlier in the week, the Sounders hoped to sign the striker before the end of the transfer window.
As we reported yesterday signs continue to point to Martins joining the Sounders after Levante’s Europa cup match on March 17th. Which sets him up to be ready to play (as soon as paperwork clears) for the San Jose match on Mar 23.
You might not see an official announcement from either organization until Saturday, as the Sounders currently have their 3 DP slots filled, meaning one has to go (likely Christian Tiffert).

Terra.com is reporting there was a high level meeting between the president of Levante and Obafemi Martins on Wednesday. Martins insisted on his being transferred, and the Levante president said the Sounders have to be willing to pay entire clause (€3million). This supports our earlier sources which said the deal is done with the full buyout clause paid.
