An open letter from a fan to Seattle Sounder Deandre Yedlin hits right chords.
Deandre Yedlin left for Brazil he left with twitter followers in the 10′s of thousands. A short World Cup stint and 3 months later he has surpassed a quarter of a million fans on twitter(@yedliny). The Seattle Times published a piece featuring the challenges the young superstar now faces .
Last week it started over at Sounder at Heart with “Dear Deandre” . A truly warming letter to the youngster, letting him know he will always be a Sounder, but it would be best for him to go [overseas].
It continues today as twitter user @carlisle , Andre Floyd, posted an “Open Letter To Deandre Yedlin” on his blog $.02 for what it’s worth. Coming not from a Sounders fan but a lover of the beautiful game.
“Sorry, I’m not used to writing letters — especially to people I don’t know. Except for that prison pen pal program I had in middle school which, in hindsight, WAS THE WORST IDEA ANYONE HAS EVER HAD EVER”
It is a comedic take on a real issue the player faces. Stay home and be close to family or step into the unknown and reach a limitless potential.
Of what will surely be only one of the many to follow, I would encourage you to read the full letter from Andre Floyd
