Match Preview: Seattle Reign take on Houston Dash

Seattle look to claim their 3rd win of the year against the Houston Dash tonight at Memorial Stadium.

Sitting in 7th place in the league, the Reign haven’t had the start to the 2016 NWSL campaign that they were hoping for. Now, coming off a two week break, Seattle looks to grab some momentum with a win against the Houston Dash. Since FC Kansas City picked up a point at Yurcak field against Sky Blue, a win or a draw would push the Reign into 6th place but a loss will move the down to 8th.

This will be the first of two meetings between the two teams in NWSL league play this year. The last time these two teams met the Reign grabbed three points at BBVA Compass Stadium with a 3-0 win. Seattle’s all-time record against the Dash is 5-0-0 and they have scored at least 2 goals per match so we can expect a high scoring game tonight.

Though the Reign are still without Megan Rapinoe and Manon Melis due to injury, we can look forward to the return of Jess Fishlock after breaking her leg earlier this season. The Houston Dash are also missing one of their main players with United States play maker Carli Lloyd is still recovering from her MCL injury she picked up 7 weeks ago

Kick-off tonight is at 4pm. You can watch the game on YouTube here or follow along on social media.
