That.Was.Brutal: Sounders Lose 3-0

In case you missed that graphic display of disembowelment. The Sounders were defeated 3-0 on the road.

Okay that blew so hard. That whole experience was nearly the opposite of what happened Thursday night. Between Keane’s two goals and the utterly brilliant performance by both Donovan and Christian Wilhelmsson not to mention just an all around very good performance by the rest of the Galaxy turned the Sounders and their fans on their head.

The starting line-up from the beginning didn’t install any of us with a lot of excitement or confidence. Personally I don’t know on what earth Christian Tiffert ever did to make someone feel he could effectively fill in as a Central Attacking Midfielder because his skill set just never really struck me as someone who could potentially do just about everything needed.

I’m not sure I actually recall Tiffert taking a full fledged shot this year. Not a gimmey tapper inside the box or a free-kick. A straight run of play 18 yard strike. Can’t think of one. The line-up just seemed odd, the attack floundered for most of the game. The Galaxy seemed content just to go for the tie right a long with Seattle but Landon Donovan put the team on his back and just seemed to power them right a long…but … forget this …

Forget typing this up. I’m just going to call it a night. There is really so much to talk about with this game but it just feels like it’s too much. Between the line-ups that I’ve complained heavily about, to the traveling, the rest, the in game tactics. Really… I’m sure we’ll all get a chance to whine and complain before Seattle is eliminated next week. But for now I just want to boot up Madden and pretend that this game didn’t happen. So that’s what I’m going to do.
